Our community is large and always growing. We need officials on and off skates, volunteers for our events, and of course: skaters! There is a place for everyone in roller derby. Let us help you find your team and get started on your own roller derby journey!

OPEN RECRUITMENT NIGHT

NOVEMBER 15, 2025

BUSHKILL PARK • 2100 BUSHKILL PARK DR • EASTON, PA

During our recruitment event, our LVRD skaters will talk about the league and what to expect from boot camp. We will go over training for skaters and officials alike. Add your name to our sign up sheet and you will receive additional information for next steps. Our boot camp is a fast track to league membership; basic skating skills are required.

BOOT CAMP

DECEMBER 1, 2025—MARCH 5, 2026

BUSHKILL PARK (Dec 1–Feb 2) • 2100 BUSHKILL PARK DR • EASTON, PA

KIRBY SPORTS CENTER (Feb 5–Mar 5) • 700 W PIERCE ST • EASTON, PA

Once you have been accepted through our open recruitment, you can anticipate 12 weeks of training with veterans of LVRD. We have developed a streamlined program that prepares skaters for game play.

Practices are on Mondays and Thursdays from 8:00–10:00 pm.

There is a monthly fee of $35, which covers the cost of training, skate rental, and loaner gear.

Many skaters also attend open skates at local rinks. You will never have more fun or work harder than when you join this group of like minded athletes!

*** A mouth guard is required for first day of boot camp. ***

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HIT THE TRACKS

PROTECTIVE GEAR

Roller derby is a contact sport. We require all skaters to wear the following protective gear while on the track:

  • Helmet

  • Wrist Guards

  • Knee & Elbow Pads

  • Mouth Guards

If you don't own or can't borrow gear from a friend, we have gear you can use. The only thing we don’t share is mouth guards. You can find them from many online retailers and local sport stores.

SKATES

Last but not least... we use quad skates. Officials may wear inline skates. If you have your own, go ahead and bring 'em. If not, we have access to rink skates you can borrow for the tryout and practices until you get your own.

SEE YOU AT THE RINK!

We highly recommend you make time to skate before the beginning of boot camp. You don't have to be an expert right at the jump, but you will need to have at least basic skating skills. All local rinks have open skate sessions for the public, and most offer skate lessons. Be sure to check their websites for times.
